  • Overall even skin tone

How does it work?

IPL is a laser technology that delivers a broad spectrum of light beneath the skin’s surface to reverse the signs of sun damage, age spots and hyperpigmentation. The light energy in IPL is absorbed by the pigments in our skin that we don't like; causing intense heat that damages or destroys the structure that holds the color to ultimately remove sun damage.

What can i expect during treatment?

During an IPL session, the intense blast of light and heat may be mildly uncomfortable. The discomfort feels like the mild snapping of a rubber band. The number of treatments required depends on the severity of the skin condition. Immediately after treatment you may see the treated spots become slightly darker. The treated area may have a slight sunburned sensation for a few days. It can take up to 3 weeks for the discoloration to slough off. For best results, 3-6 treatments are necessary spaced about one month apart.

What are the results?

Visible results become apparent after just one treatment. In the weeks following, skin is more evenly toned, pore size is reduced and there is a noticeable reduction in the appearance of age spots, discoloration, broken blood vessels, acne, redness and fine lines and wrinkles. The result after a series of IPL treatments is clearer, younger-looking skin.

Is it safe?

The downtime with IPL is dependent on the amount of underlying damaged cells the client may have. The darkened spots can be covered with makeup but require 5-7 days to fully slough off. However, the redness will subside in a couple of hours.
